8BitDo Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard

I definitely bought this due to the retro NES style but the other aspects of the keyboard made me love it even more. I don't know a lot about mechanical keyboards but this one feels great to type with and love the sound. Still have no idea what to use the 2 big red super buttons it comes with for though...

If your chosen device allows you to use 8bitdo then you should switch immediately. They are 2x the quality for 1/2 the price of bigger names. The whole company is boss level i hope it never changes as it grows gigantic

It's a great keyboard, only problems is that it doesm't come with a keycap or switch puller making cleaning pretty hard and it doesn't come in any other layouts. I then have to rely on my limited you h typing skills when i want to use special characters and symbols.

I had straightaway a problem with "-" key, which keeps itself blocked in place. One day I'll solve it, in the meantinme i mapped AB extrabutton to cheat it in an easy way. I'm really happy of the keyboard btw, sound and feedback are perfectly what I hoped, I find it very satisfying to use.

a great keyboard at a reasonable price -- it sounds great, looks great, feels great AND it has hot-swappable switches (very important both for customizability and repairability). i'd recommend it whole heartedly to anyone who is considering purchasing it, it's a lovely addition to my setup and has made typing feel great.

but there's just a few things it lacks in order to make it perfect, in my opinion. for one, it does not have a keycap and switch puller in the box (something really cheap to add) despite being hot-swap. it also does not include any of the novelty keycaps that the equivalent keycap set does, which would have been a great addition as well. and finally, the cable for the super buttons is unfortunately attached and thus cannot be swapped for a shorter aux cable (the attached cable is very long and makes having the super buttons next to the keyboard very tough) or repaired.

i was initially disappointed at seeing no backlight option, but due to the pale keycaps typing in the dark is easy, so it ended up being a non-issue for me.

overall a great product with just a few cut corners that disappointed me a little
