8BitDo Mod Kit for Original NGC Controller

I loved it. Only nitpicks I have is that I can't use an "L1" button, and have to map it in the sofware im playing to something else (like L3). I wish we could hard-map it to the controller via Ultimate Software on the PC, by activating a combo or something similar.

I use it on my phone, but for some reason there's no rumble detection. I don't know why.

Also using it on my Wii U through Nintendont to play Gamecube (had to connect a Smash GCN adapter and an 8BitDo GCN receiver together with this, but I'm glad it works perfectly fine! Analog triggers and rumble work fine, too. Can be used with the Switch or the WiiU smash gcn adapter.

Overall, great controller. Im just a bit saddened now that Nintendo announced their own version of a modern GCN controller for Switch 2 (with an actual L button). Maybe we could get a revision with some extra features like macros and an L button (or L button combo).

I like it quite a lot, though. New hall-effect sticks feel absolutely amazing to use.

Very easy to install and very good quality. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is I wish the charging port was USB C but I know that would involve cutting the controller casing.

Good product

Mod kit works great, but it can be a bit tricky if this is your first controller mod. No difficult wiring or soldering, but you do nee to clip some wires and carefully route pieces into the right place. Satisfying once you finish though!

Definitely a really nice controller had ghost inputs on D pad once in awhile but that's likely just needs cleaned or new rubber pad
