Don't like dealing with batteries. These controllers were just what I needed.
Dear 8bitdo!
The controller is awesome. You can get used to using it really fast, pushing the buttons are really good. Thank you for shipping it tto Hungary. For meg the cable is a Littke bit long bit this is the only negative for me. Next time I will buy wireless. Looking forward for a classic SNES wireless controller realease.
Thanks again.
Best wishes, Sándor
I bought two of these. After a week the first controllers left joystick no longer registers forward input. A week later the 2nd controller's right trigger started acting up and only sometimes registers a button press. The triggers on both controllers are way too sensitive. The over all feel of the controllers is beyond what I expected at this price but that not worth much if the internals can't stand up to a week or two of light use.
It's similar to a PS1/2 controller I used back then and comfortable in holding, especially with the thumbsticks being on the same alignment position than compared to the Switch controls.
The only slight annoyance when using it for Steam is it reads the right symbols as Xbox while the buttons are placed for Switch, which causes slight confusion for some games I have that use the positions of the buttons on a UI instead of only symbols alone. Even then have to mentally adjust of what A/B and X/Y are depending on the game and mapping. Not much 8Bitdo can do about that. I wasn't aware of how Steam would read the controller either, and wasn't familiar with Xbox either as I never played one.
While setting up a profile can help with this issue by remapping A/B and X/Y, I find myself switching between "Xbox" and "Switch" mode between games a bit consistently depending on convivence. Setting up dead zones for triggers and thumbsticks with the software doesn't apply to default, only profiles.
Overall still a good purchase for someone new to pro controllers, isn't overwhelming to get acquainted with the pads on the back. Very glad they sold wired controllers as I'm very wary of most wireless/blue tooth devices that need a consistent and stable connection.
This Pro 2 controller is very good. It feels very premium and the face buttons, bumpers, dpad, sticks and triggers are all very high build quality. The analog triggers are a nice upgrade from joycons. The cable is a good enough length for any play position also. I only wish there was motion controls as I am currently playing through Mario odyssey and really wanted a premium controller to play it with. Overall, definitely great controller.
