I replaced my old sn30 pro, after years of gaming on it I found the dpad loosened up just like the old SNES ones did back in the day. I loved it so much I replaced it with the newest one. Now the dpad is right back where I like it and the new hall effect joysticks seem like a cool idea. Although I don't notice any difference in the sticks as far as how they work. They feel the same as the original so I'm glad I don't have to adjust my play style for this. I Speedrun new games on the switch so the dpad is essential to me.
Love the controller. The buttons are a tad too click but maybe that was the design of controller back then.
Just small enough to easily carry for travel but not too small that it's uncomfortable to use, the perfect size basically. I like that the sticks are full size hall sticks and the buttons feel nice, and works perfectly with my android device to allow multiple players to play locally on these controllers
This controller had the greatest compatibility of the small to medium options so I picked it up to use with steam, meta quest, etc. It seems to work reasonably well. Aesthetically it ranks behind some of the newer 8bitdo controllers, but the biggest annoyance is the lack of a mode toggle switch. You need to remember to hit a combination of start and x/a/b etc to put the controller in different console compatibility modes, and basically keep the manual forever to look them up.
This is my third SN30 Pro, I use them for PC gaming on several Linux-based systems both at home and on the go. They work flawlessly, there's really nothing else to say!
