Better than the Switch Pro controller (except for the lack of HD rumble, oh well). Bluetooth and USB connection options are a great feature. And it actually wakes my Swtich. By far my favorite.
8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller with Charging Dock
Works absolutely fine in Windows, Linux, on Switch, and on other platforms (such as Pi-based emulation boxes). Very precise control sticks. Buttons feel a little cheap compared to official Pro controller. Can't set up programmable buttons in Linux AFAIK. Can't get it to wake the Switch, but syncs and plays just fine after that. All relatively minor issues, at least. Happy with my purchase.
Good
The charging dock works great. It's very easy to switch between my docked Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch. That's the best feature IMO, as it can be a pain to switch/re-pair on other controllers. Android isn't officially supported but my Nvidia Shield TV works too over bluetooth.
Like all 8bitdo controllers, the firmware update software requires Windows. That's a pain as I use only the Steam Deck and Linux. If Steam Deck is going to be listed as supported, it should really support fwupd so that updates can be applied. 8bitdo used to provide updates on fwupd many years ago and just stopped. fwupd allows for trivially easy updates without having to even install custom software - it really just works. Also the back grip buttons don't seem to work in Steam. Multiple bluetooth device pairing would be nice too. I can pair most bluetooth headphones easily with multiple devices. But controllers rarely seem to allow for this.
