8BitDo Pro 2 (Hall Effect Joystick)

Works as expected, no issues.

Nice product overall, quality is here on many points, it's easy to setup and parameter, and very nice to play with. Battery duration is as expected, this is a very good quality product.

Howether, two things :

- Buttons setup : why choosing this setup for buttons with A button on the left and B down ? Almost all controllers have A button or equivalent (X on PS controllers) positionned down, why do differently ? I konw we can change that with the software, but this is a bad default design choice.

- No real battery level indicator :
We're in 2025, I want to know if my controller is full empty or half empty when I press "start" button or something similar, or at least a clear and easy light indicator on the controller. This is not acceptable to have less than that today. This is a basic and most important information to have !

I like the feel of the controller but sometimes the L stick stops working for a split second. Also the ultimate software can't detect my controller no matter what I try which is annoying because there are 2 buttons on the back of the handles of the controller and I can't control what buttons they're mapped to. I've died multiple times in the game I'm playing because my finger bumped the button by accident and I'd love to disable it but ultimate software can't detect my controller so nothing I can do I guess. It's annoying that since I can't use ultimate software I can't disable the buttons so the controller actively made playing the game a worse experience.

Love this controller, been using it for all sorts of games, and as a bonus I do a lot of Linux gaming which has worked seamlessly.
The build is great although full disclosure haven't had it super long.
The additional control elements from the original are great.
And lastly, it gives that great nostalgic feeling in hand and on my desk.

D-Pad feels excellent, buttons are nice and responsive with tactile feedback and I can rebind the paddle buttons to the stick clicks to allow the sticks even more of a lifespan. The only issue I have had is every once in a while the controller will disconnect and reconnect for some reason while I have it plugged in for long periods of time.
