I have 4 of these controllers already - primarily for my two kids, but also for when we're travelling via train and want to play together. Their compact form factor makes them easier to pack for a trip than a full-sized controller with grips.
It's a damn shame you apparently can't buy one with an XBox layout - they all seem to come with the Switch layout, but I ordered XBox ABXY buttons and swapped them out in minutes. It was difficult on one of the controllers because I couldn't fit the membrane for one of the triggers properly, but on the 5th try I managed to reassemble it good as new. :)
My kids also drop their controllers every now and again by accident, and so far none of them broke, so I think they're quite robust.
All in all, any drawbacks are negligible and I highly recommend this controller. :)
Its a great controller thats small and fits my hand very well. The retro aesthetic is cool and the gyro is surprisingly great. But the dpad can be mushy to use

It's a nice, quality piece of hardware. Good battery life, easy to use. One thing I noticed though (while practicing speedrunning Castlevania II) is that the D-Pad is a little squishy in the UP position. I would be holding UP to press B and throw a special weapon, and for some reason it doesn't come out every time. It's like i have to really press down hard on the UP direction to cause an input, compared with my old SF30 Pro (whose battery finally gave out, hence the replacement).
Love your guys' stuff!
Not too big not too small just the perfect size
