I ordered two 8bitdo replacement Hall effect control sticks for my N64 controllers. Installation was relatively straightforward, with good instructions. The cable of the replacement stick was a bit fiddly to route inside the controller, but that’s a small complaint. To use, I find it very good. It has a natural feel that is very similar to a GameCube stick, and trying it on Super Mario 64 it felt every bit as good as a genuine Nintendo stick to me, maybe even a bit better as the motion is much smoother. If I could change anything I would give it a little bit more resistance, but I’m really not bothered by it. It’s very well made, with good quality plastics that match the controller very well, and the fit of the new stick module inside the controller is near perfect. Unless you had it side by side with another controller with an original stick you really wouldn’t notice much difference. If you have an N64 controller with a worn control stick that you want to bring back to life, this is a superb solution at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended!
