Solid controller, nice design, could be improved by being higher quality, I don’t regret my purchase though.

I use this controller for fighting games, and it's excellent for it's purpose, but this is the third one I've owned due to the first two breaking in the same way. In both cases the tiny hinge that the right bumper pivots on snapped. It's nearly impossible to repair yourself, and I struggled to make use of the warranty since I live in the UK. If you live in the US it's probably easier to send it to a repair center. Essentially, it's a good controller, but it might give out under heavy use, so keep the warranty in mind..

Bought this as a spare controller while I was repairing my main controller, as I'd heard on tumblr that 8bitdo controllers are very well made. Did not disappoint, the grips are well-shaped, the joysticks move incredibly smoothly, all of the buttons feel nice to press, no stickiness or any other issues. And in relation to my other controller struggles, the case is easier to pull apart for any maintenance-- I haven't had any issues so far, but it's nice to know it'll be easy to maintain if anything goes wrong.

I've been using this controller primarily for modern gaming, but I do use it for some retro games as well. It works nicely for both use cases, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes this style of controller.
