8BitDo Retro Receiver for NGC

A standard gamecube controller has (A) in the center/bottom, (B) on the left, (Y) on top, and (X) on the right. On a conventional diamond-layout controller (PS4/5, Xbox One, etc.), this adapter places (A) on the right, (B) on the bottom, (X) on the top, and (Y) on the left. This control scheme is correct for any non-Gamecube Nintendo console, like the SNES, Wii-U, or a Switch pro controller, but it is completely incorrect for the Gamecube. A large number of Gamecube games do not have remappable controls or only have preset control schemes that rely on the Gamecube controller's button placement. This adapter being non-programmable and using non-Gamecube button mapping presents a problem with any game that doesn't have its own button remapping settings. The adapter DOES work reasonably well as an adapter, but games without remappable control support range from annoying to impossible to play.
