The kit gets almost everything right, but the fundamental flaw of the left stick not being rotated like on the original board causes unnecessary imprecision.

As it seems to be a fairly straightforward firmware fix, given that the rotation error is the same amount on all units, right now I consider it a big missed opportunity. There have been complaints about it since the product launched, and the infrequent updates have made the issue worse.

At least if the firmware was open source, someone would have picked up on this issue by now.

Once received, I was able to swap out the boards within my gamecube controller. Followed the intructions to update the bluetooth dongle. Everything still works and even though the Wavebird is sought out for nostalgia reasons, this is a great and cheaper alternative.
