How it holds up over time? Who knows. Who cares?! Out of the box, im in love. d-pad quality is important to me, and the previous sn30 (snes pad exact copy) had a little too much give in the directionals. example: pressing down on the d-pad and shifting pressure with my thumb left or right triggered L/R movement in the game. i know i grip too hard, trying to correct that, but on the way to recovery, it's nice to have a controller with a motion compass that doesnt punish me for my bad habits. currently playing on the nintendo switch, and the cable is long enough. 'Course, i play like a 3rd grader right down on the floor in front of the screen. if youre the type that likes sitting a good distance back from your tv/monitor, you'll need to get a usb cable extender. As it is the latency is none, using an extender definitely wont slow down input enough to notice. Wired is faster than wireless anyway, so if an extender slows it down, the lag wont be greater than what youre used to on modern console wireless controllers. Using it on nintendo online classic game collections, so havent tested out the toggles much. I have given them a spin and the motion is smooth but not overly so. cheaper controllers usually have sticks that seem like theyre trying too hard to be level, resulting in them having a loose/shaky feel. These are not that. Another pitfall of budget controllers is the weight. Let's face it, video games are toys. However, i'm a grownass man, and i dont want my electronics mechanic manipulator to feel like a baby-thing. Mentally preparing myself for this eventuality from the moment i tapped "place order" to the moment i pulled my SN30 Pro Wired out of my mailbox was a complete waste of time...because this thing has a nice weight to it. It feels like a tool, and im not being reminded every time i pick it up that i should probably be doing more grown up activities instead of beating thru Donkey Kong Country for the upteeth time. Has all the buttons and triggers needed for modern gaming. R's L's and Z's. Havent tried it with current titles because for the hour i set aside during my day to sit down, i simply must remind myself how much i suck at Star Fox. Crashing into buildings does NOT give you extra points. The only reason i'd give this product four stars is because im currently ignorant of its true ability to handle new games and, as i mentioned at the start of this review, of how it'll hold up over time. But docking a point from my review score because i personally havent gotten around to in-depth testing isnt fair to a company that allows me to have a name-brand quality pad for less than half the price! SN30 Pro Wired Controller? Right out of the box, it works, and works well. Five stars all the way, poorer peoples of the earth. Five stars all the way.
It never showed up!
The 8BitDo SN30 Pro Wired Controller makes you really FEEL your sword hit the wall, stunning you for ten seconds, allowing you to get sniped and fall into the abyss after collecting 30,000 souls and 13 humanity. 10/10.
You can't ask for a better replica retro controller, especially the D-pad on the G Classic edition. Have some issues with it not connecting in X-input mode and have to make sure to press the X button while it's connecting, but that might be due to connecting to a Steam Link box. Otherwise a perfect controller.
