Amazing product, am very happy with the purchase
Used it for about 20h, so far I am very satisfied. The additional L4 and R4 are a great and helpful addition.
Works great as BT, Wireless, and Wired.
When I compare this controller to the dualsense controller I have, this one feels way better. The only thing that I don't find that good is the macro buttons, yes, they are actually incredibly useful, this is the first time I use macros buttons on a controller, but the placement of them is a little uncomfortable. The R1 and L1 are a bit small, but that's mostly because the 2 macro buttons are right beneath them. People talk about the controller being small and narrow, so people with wide shoulders can't use them, but I disagree, just move your elbows outwards and that issue is pretty much gone lol. The vibrations of the controller I find sometimes a bit too strong, but other times it's just right, though it's mostly the strong one that's active. But holding the controller itself, I'm way more comfortable with it than the playstation controller and I've been using a PS controller for 4 years!!! I also like the press of the R1 and L1 it's very clicky, like a mouse, I like that. The R2 and L2 I like as well, the placement and size of them is actually perfect, something which you wouldn't really think about while playing. The controller also having macro buttons while only being 30€ is also nice, though I don't like the placement, I've gotten almost used to it. A lot of times I accidentally press R1 instead of the macros button and vice versa, same with L1. Though I thought I would like the D-pad, since it looks so different from the dualsense one (which is horrible by the way) it still has to problem I always face with the dualsense controller's d-pad, though less times. When you press on an arrow too hard or at the wrong place, for example pressing the left d-pad at the lowest point, the bottom d-pad also gets pressed. But the main problem I have with the d-pad is how flat it is. If I'm typing on a virtual keyboard with it (which I do a lot) I find it difficult to quickly move from letter to letter, I don't quite know how to explain it, but I'd say it's like if you put a cross on a little ball and tried to use the ends of the crosses as a d-pad. Though this is probably just be a me-problem. The joysticks not being at the same height like a ps controller actually doesn't hinder me that much. I might actually like it more. The a, b x and y buttons are also pretty good, though they're not that special. The option to instantly change from bluetooth to the USB key is actually incredible, though I mostly use the key version and the controller doesn't work on a PS5 if you don't use chiaki-ng, but that's a sony problem (greedy damn company). The share button (which I remapped to the touchpad) is in a very uncomfortable position however, it's blocked by the left joystick, which I find extremely annoying, because most of the games I play require you to use the touchpad a lot and even if I didn't use it as a touchpad, I use the share button a lot as well, so it's really just horrible for me, but again, I might get used to it, but for this problem I don't think I can.
Overall, for the price, this controller is incredible, I like it way better than my dualsense controller, but it has a lot of problems with placement, which is probably a me-problem. However, it's going to last me, I'm guessing, for a lifetime since it has TMR joysticks, so it doesn't get stick drift. Which I find the absolute best part about this controller, since 8BitDo could just make the joysticks the same way sony does and make you replace your controller every 9 months, but for way less money (since it's more than 2x cheaper). But 8BitDo decided to actually be a good company and gave the controller non-stick driftable joysticks, best controller I've ever held in my hands.
to get it to work in the mode it supported at release, I had to downgrade the firmware forgoing bugfixes that subsequent firmware gives. so ghe chooces are ghost input in xinput or not having dinput at all. further, I can only ever have dinput in wireless mode, never while it is plugged in or on bluetooth. support has ignored my requests for redress. considering contacting my credit card company, I had to buy a different brand of controller. never dealing with 8bitdo again.
